10 October 2021Arca Sgr di Benussi won the 53rd edition of the Barcolana, the largest regatta in the world held every year in Trieste on the second Sunday of October.

The wind conditions were forbidden, with the bura reaching 42 knots, tearing the sails of some boats with about 300 boats, the smallest ones, forced not to leave just to avoid problems.

In just over 45 minutes, at 11:16:03, Furio Benussi's Arca Sgr of Trieste reached the third mark, in front of the Miramare castle. Second place Ewol at 11.18.10, despite having broken the mainsail, and third Maxi Jena at 11.26.45. Fourth place assigned to Adriatic Europa Dussan Puh (11.28.17).



The race was characterized by the bora, which has been blowing over Trieste for days. The finish line was anticipated by the organizers therefore the regatta did not end as usual in piazza UnitĂ  but at mark 3. Due to bad weather the regatta was canceled by class two down, who did not reach mark 3 but have returned directly to the port. The decision was made to prevent these boats from sailing in the areas of the race course where the gusts of wind were most violent. 



According to the provisional classification, the Swan 90 Woodpecker Cube-Generali, the boat driven by Claudia Rossi, world champion in offshore sailing in a mixed pair, wins fifth place (11.29.03) and also the first prize of the Generali mixed crew with female helmsman who first reached the finish line.
