On October 8, local time, a Shiite mosque in Kunduz City, the capital of Kunduz Province, northern Afghanistan, was bombed that day. The death toll rose to 46 and another 143 were injured.

The Taliban are investigating this.

  The extremist organization "Islamic State Khorasan" issued a statement on social media that a suicide attacker of the organization detonated a bomb vest in the mosque.
