"Homosexuality is a bad disease, you know something about it": this sentence addressed in 2014 by a teacher to a student, then 14, of the Hotel Institute of Assisi, cost him a sentence of nine months in prison (suspended sentence ) and to the compensation of 1,500 euros from the court of the Umbrian capital.

The news was reported by the Umbria24 website and by local newspapers.

The teacher also had to answer that he hit the boy with "two kicks in the leg and as many punches in the shoulder and finally grabbing him by the neck until he was out of breath" after the boy had replied "I believe it since I've known her ".

The aggravating circumstance charged to the teacher is "for having committed the facts of insults, beatings and injuries with abuse of powers and in violation of the duties inherent to the public function exercised, taking advantage of personal circumstances such as to hinder public and private defense, in particular of the victim's evident psychic inferiority, due to the minor age, and the role of teacher ".
