Barham Salih: Tomorrow's elections are decisive and decisive in the history of Iraq

Today, Saturday, Iraqi President Barham Salih called on Iraqis to participate widely in the upcoming parliamentary elections, because they will achieve real representation of the people and impose their will.

Saleh said, in a televised speech today, that "the elections tomorrow, Sunday, are one of the most important electoral processes in the modern history of Iraq.

He stressed that the upcoming elections are "an opportunity to build a capable and capable state to correct the wrong paths, strike corruption, and work on revising the constitution through a new political and social contract."

On the other hand, Lieutenant General Abdul-Amir al-Shammari, head of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections, said in a press statement that the security committee had completed all preparations and had sent reserve forces from the rapid response and special forces to impose electoral security in Baghdad and the provinces.

Al-Shammari told reporters in Baghdad that all polling stations are secured and that there is no curfew on polling day.

According to statistics from the Independent High Electoral Commission, the total number of voters who are entitled to vote in the upcoming elections is 24,907,679 voters in all Iraqi cities, including the cities of the Kurdistan region.

The Supreme Security Committee for Elections decided to deploy more than 250 thousand army, police and security forces to secure protection for electoral centers in the form of security cordons reinforced with additional security measures by surrounding the electoral centers with barbed wire and determining the movement of voters in safe corridors towards the polling centers as well as conducting a personal voter inspection And obligating him to wear masks to prevent the Corona virus.

 Major General Yahya Rasoul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, revealed in a press statement that the Air Force Command and Army Aviation have been assigned to fly over Baghdad and the provinces at an appropriate height on reconnaissance missions to support the security plan to protect the universal suffrage process.
