The president of Rugby Club Toulonnais (RCT) Bernard Lemaître assured Thursday at a press conference that he did not want to "set an ultimatum" to the players or to the Var manager Patrice Collazo, while the club is having a difficult start to the season in Top 14.

"I want to work with confidence," said the businessman who admits that "the results are not satisfactory".

Toulon, which receives Brive on Saturday, won only one match in the first five days of Top 14, for a draw and three losses, and stagnates in 11th position in the standings.

Despite these remarks, Mr. Lemaître still confirmed that "a balance sheet" would be made in three matches, after playing at home against Brive, Racing 92 and moving to La Rochelle.

And his position could change depending on the results, since he added Thursday "not being able to say" that she would be his reaction in case of defeat at home in the first or second game.

In an always solemn tone, Lemaître also confirmed "to share the discontent of the supporters" and repeat his remarks at the end of last season: "there will not be two seasons like last year".

After having drawn a first assessment and having "inquired about the opinion that one has" of the members of his staff in the world of rugby, the president and owner of the RCT noted "a problem of unity" in the group and did not say he was opposed to the idea of parting with a few players during the season if the results were not there.

"The objective of qualification is maintained" he also reaffirmed.
