The Swedish government has invited upwards of 60 heads of government and state to Malmö to talk about and strengthen the work to commemorate the Holocaust and fight anti-Semitism.

As a result, the police are planning a security operation which in turn will affect public transport in and to and from Malmö.

- The traffic situation in the whole of Malmö will be very difficult.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, we will in principle only run half of the city bus traffic, says Mats Ohlsson, senior business developer at Skånetrafiken.

He also says that several regional buses will be canceled or run with reduced capacity.

- We really encourage people to work from home if they can, says Mats Ohlsson.

Quiet from the police

Mats Ohlsson has worked with similar events before but thinks it was especially special this time.

They have been a small group that has had to work with the redirection of traffic and since it is a major security effort, the police have been more low-key than usual.

- It has been so quiet, he says.

'' There will be major disruptions'

Already on Monday, some public transport in Malmö will be rerouted and according to Mats Ohlsson, there is a risk that traffic in some places may be affected until Friday next week.

- Then there will also be major disruptions that we have no control over today, it can happen quite quickly.
