According to a report by the Press Trust of India on the 8th, the Ministry of Interior of India has decided to open the entry of international tourists who enter India by charter flights from October 15th. At the same time, individual tourists who travel to India will also be able to apply for visas from November 15th.

This decision was made after consultation with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Tourism and industry insiders.

In order to revitalize the tourism, hotel, and aviation industries, the first 500,000 foreign tourists will receive visas free of charge. Free visa measures will be implemented until March 31, 2022. 500,000 Indian tourist visas will be applied first, first served by the Indian government. This will cost about 1 billion rupees (about 88 million yuan).

Affected by the epidemic, India has cancelled and suspended all electronic tourist visas from March 2020.
