Five years after the death of Alberto Nisman, the enigma that scandalizes Argentina

The Argentine justice dismissed the Argentine vice president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, in a case of international repercussion, which examined the agreement that she signed with

Iran

as president

to investigate the attack on a Jewish entity in 1994.

The judges determined that there was no cover-up of the perpetrators of the

attack or "treason against the fatherland"

by Fernández de Kirchner when, in 2013, he signed a pact with the theocratic regime in

Tehran

in order to interrogate the Iranians suspected of having organized the attack against the AMIA, which left 85 dead.

"The Memorandum, regardless of whether it is considered a political success or failure, did not constitute a crime," the resolution said.

"Since the

Memorandum of Understanding between Argentina and Iran

did not enter into force and since a state of war never existed between the Argentine Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran, it is possible to deduce that none of the conducts listed here are likely to be framed in figures of treason, "the court added.

The investigation of the agreement with Iran was in the hands of the federal prosecutor Alberto Nisman until in January 2015 he was found dead in circumstances that were never clarified, but which were considered by the Argentine justice a murder.

Nisman denounced the then president as a "cover-up" for the perpetrators of the attack.

He died a day before he appeared before Parliament to explain the evidence at his disposal.

Along with Fernández de Kirchner,

Carlos Zannini

, Treasury Attorney (the head of the State's legal profession) and

Juan Martín Mena

, Vice Minister of Justice, among others,

were exonerated

.

The vice president had described the case as "institutional, judicial and political nonsense."

Despite the good news that reached her on Thursday night in

Buenos Aires

, the former president has reasons to be concerned, as the cases against her for illicit association and defrauding the State are advancing.
