07 October 2021 "Ireland joins OECD international tax agreement" for minimum international taxation for multinationals.

This was announced on twitter by the European Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, underlining that it is "an important and extremely positive step for the collective efforts of Europe to build a more equitable and stable global tax system".

Last July the G20 meeting in Venice had supported the maximum agreement reached within the OECD for a minimum tax of 15% on multinationals.

Among the member states, however, Ireland, Hungary and Estonia had withdrawn from the signature. Estonia also announced the same decision in Dublin in the evening.
