"In the course of work on the bill, the deputies made amendments aimed at writing the traditional, historically established Kazakh names of administrative-territorial units, constituent parts of settlements, as well as other physical and geographical objects in the state language," development of the lower house of the Kazakh parliament.

The requirement also applies to letterheads and signs of non-governmental organizations, which must be presented in the state language (Kazakh), and, if necessary, in Russian and (or) other languages.

In September, it was reported that the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan plans to amend the Law on Cinematography, according to which the original versions of films will be required to be dubbed into Kazakh for distribution in the country.
