October 07, 2021 "We should have reached the end, hopefully. In the past there has been a chain of errors, of wrong counts. And the counterpart has taken a lot of time, too much": thus Bruno Rossi who with his wife Franca is waiting to know the sentence that the Supreme Court will issue on the death of his daughter Martina on August 3, 2011.

Today we will put an end to this story. "Martina Rossi's was not a suicide" but "an attempt to escape gang violence", as established by the Florence Court of Appeal. This is the sense of the indictment of the Deputy Attorney General of Cassation Elisabetta Ceniccola who asked to confirm the 3-year sentence for Luca Vanneschi and Alessandro Albertoni, the two Aretini convicted of attempted group sexual violence at the trial in Florence on the death of the twenty-year-old Genoese, died on 3 August 2011 falling from the terrace of the sixth floor of the "Santa Ana" hotel in Palma de Mallorca.

The indictment focused in particular on the classification of the crime of group and non-concurrent sexual violence, on which the statute of limitations also depend (that of death as a result of another crime is already prescribed and has left the trial). For the pg the reconstruction that sees the "coexistence" of the two defendants in the hotel room in Palma de Mallorca is correct, which "negatively influenced" Martina's reaction, "who felt all the more in a state of awe and unable to defend themselves ". Reason why the girl would have chosen a "more difficult" escape route, which put her in danger and not to go out the door: she climbs over the balustrade "but does not throw herself with suicidal intent". The Prosecutor recalled that "Martina did not have the shorts, which she wore, and they have never been found. For the Court of Appeal - he underlined - it was illogical for the girl to go around the hotel without shorts and without slippers. "Other elements highlighted by the pg are some injuries on Martina's body in addition to those attributable to the fall from the terrace and Albertoni's scratches, one of the two defendants.

Sit-in of “Non Una di Meno”

Outside the Supreme Court, in Piazza Cavour, in Rome, a sit-in of the Non Una di Meno association was organized.

"Truth and justice" for Martina Rossi: this is what we read on some banners.

"The victim is not tried, death is not prescribed", reads another banner.
