06 October 2021Another theft in the archaeological park of Pompeii.

A marble manhole cover was stolen from the Domus of Sirico.

The discovery was made by the staff of the Superintendence.

The manhole cover in marble, circular in shape and with a diameter of 20 centimeters, was allegedly removed between 30 September and 4 October.

The Domus di Sirico, located in the Regio VII, is in an area that is accessible to the public and has recently undergone restoration work.

Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri of the Pompeii station.
