Hack for Earth celebrates the "Dream for Earth" campaign during Expo 2020

Hack for Earth Foundation celebrated the "Dream for Earth" campaign that it launched in cooperation with the United Nations and the Swedish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The campaign was launched last May and called on everyone to share their dreams related to the sustainable development goals through a text or video clip on the foundation’s website and was able to collect more than a thousand dreams for the future from about 60 countries, where these dreams were linked to the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals.

Anne Mullen, founder of Hack for Earth, stressed the need to involve all citizens in the world to work on real change in the future and find solutions to crises, noting the need for real efforts to help achieve the sustainable development goals.

She said, "We want to involve all citizens, not just presidents and managers, so we decided to launch this event because everything starts with a dream. Small and big solutions all start with a dream. We invited people to dream for the sake of the land."

For her part, Dina Assaf, Deputy Commissioner-General of the United Nations at Expo 2020, said that the United Nations is very keen to support innovation, participation, bringing people together and urging the exchange of ideas at Expo 2020 by bringing countries to work together, laying the foundations for the United Nations itself, which has long aimed to bring countries together. From each other, exchange ideas and solutions.

During an event held in the Swedish pavilion, the winner of the "Dream for the Earth" award was announced, which was the 16-year-old dreamer Joseph Adige of Nigeria, who dreamed of a world enjoying political and economic stability.

Deputy Commissioner-General of the Swedish Pavilion, Ludwig Diver, said that what Hack for Earth is trying to do is an interesting thing by bringing the whole world together, regardless of a person's identity, origin or background. Everyone can join the campaign and share their dreams as a first step for these dreams to be a part of the change we aspire to.

It is noteworthy that Sweden chose to participate in the sustainability area of "Expo 2020 Dubai" with a pavilion called "The Forest" as an innovative model that reflects Sweden's position as a leading country in the fields of sustainability.
