We still do not know when the name of the future president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Céni) of the DRC will be known.

The 72-hour ultimatum posed by the current president of the institution has been exceeded since Monday, October 4.

Religious denominations are still divided on the candidacy of Denis Kadima, considered close to the presidency of the Republic.

Catholics and Protestants say they are open to discussions, but the six other denominations believe that the exchanges are over and swear by Denis Kadima.

Faced with differences, the process becomes bogged down and the outcome is increasingly uncertain.

The National Episcopal Conference of Congo (Cenco) recognizes Denis Kadima's expertise in electoral matters.

But it raises "

ethical problems

 ".

According to Father Nshole, secretary of the Catholic episcopal organization, his candidacy is marred by attempts at corruption and threats and he says he is ready this time to share the evidence with the office of the National Assembly.

While referring to the joint communiqué signed on July 23 by the eight denominations denouncing various pressures, Father Nshole asks the National Assembly to note what he calls irregularities and to return the confessions to the negotiating table.

A solution before the end of the parliamentary session

Despite all unsuccessful attempts, CENCO refuses to throw in the towel.

This will leave room for a process that will take the country to a situation that we do not want

," Father Donatien N'shole told RFI.

On the side of the office of the National Assembly, it is suggested that no forced passage is on the program.

The rapporteur of the lower house still hopes that the various actors will find common ground despite the outdated ultimatum.

However, he would like a final solution to be found before the end of the parliamentary session in September, which is still ongoing.
