April 20, 2018 An 83-year-old inmate who was sentenced to death for killing a federal judge in 1989 in a wave of terrorist actions in the southern United States was executed in Alabama: he is the oldest inmate executed by when executions of the death penalty resumed in the 1970s.   



Walter Leroy Moody Jr.'s death was pronounced at 8:42 pm local time, after being subjected to a lethal injection in Atmore Prison.
