Burkina Faso: the “My city in painting” caravan opens art to art lovers

Since Monday, October 4, painting enthusiasts have the opportunity to express themselves alongside professionals.
Initiated by the painter Adjaratou Ouedraogo, the “My city in painting” caravan toured certain neighborhoods with the aim of bringing pictorial art out of workshops and galleries.
The paintings from this caravan will be offered to Ouagadougou town hall for the decoration of certain public places.
Some of them will be sold and the profits donated to charities.
Painting enthusiasts have until October 9 to express their talent.

Judith Zida, is a lover of painting.
Brush in hand, she adds the final touches to the mask she has just painted.
“
I painted a bit with black, red and yellow,
” she explains.
Black means that right now it is wrong.
The red is the shedding of blood and the yellow means wealth, gold, whereas nowadays people are suffering from poverty.

Under the marquee erected on the artists' square, “My city in painting” offers the populations the opportunity to express themselves.
Here, everyone becomes a creator in a matter of minutes.

It's up to the population, to those who want to touch painting, to express themselves,
insists Adjaratou Ouedraogo, painter and promoter of the event.
They are all invited to come and paint.
The artists are there to guide in the use of colors.
We hope to find young talents who are interested in painting and who will embark on the discipline.

Some of the paintings will be offered to the city of Ouagadougou for the decoration of certain schools, or public places.
The best will be put up for sale and the proceeds donated to charities, according to the promoter.
