Norwegian staff arrived just before midnight at the then closed border crossing to remove the roadblocks that have been there since the end of January.

On the Swedish side of the border, a group of Swedes, living in Gränsbo, Rörbäcksnäs and Grundforsen, had gathered to celebrate the opening.

There were both games on handcuffs and drums before the party dot on the twelfth beat went on a line across the border line into the Norwegian side to meet some of those who live there.

- When you live like this in the border areas, you have family on both sides of the border.

Now we can finally meet without a lot of hassle, says René Persson.
