When Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, a leading Democratic presidential candidate, was fined for drunk driving in 2004, it was confirmed that his blood alcohol level was 0.158% intoxicated.



According to the decision on the summary order for the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court in 2004, submitted by the Ministry of Justice by Rep. Jeon Joo-hye, a member of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly, on May 1 of the same year, at 1:21 a.m., at home with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.158%. It was found that he drove his car to the road in front of Central Park in Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si.



The governor was fined 1.5 million won for this drunk driving.



Earlier, during the Democratic primary, the governor's fine was too high for the first offense at the time, raising suspicions of re-offending.



Accordingly, the branch has released a criminal and investigation history report that includes a fine of not more than 1 million won.
