During the time that the restaurants have been subject to corona-related restrictions, the police have had significantly fewer restaurant-related cases, according to Fredrik Jeppsson in Umeå.

As the restrictions have been lifted, they have seen a slight increase.

- Now there is a risk that people drink too much when the restrictions disappear and then there is usually more for us to deal with, he says.

"Expect good order"

To prevent the risk of high levels of drunkenness and disorder, the police, together with the municipality, called in restaurateurs who run nightclubs for a meeting where they reminded of rules in the Alcohol Act and law and order issues.

- We expect them to have a good order, serve in moderation and make a selection at the door so that those who are too drunk can go home, says Fredrik Jeppsson.

However, he does not want to comment on how much the police are preparing for the nightclubs' opening on Wednesday.

- We never talk about how we equip.

But we have a readiness, he says.
