September 28, 2021A procession of hundreds of Alitalia workers moved together in Rome this morning.

The flash mob that started from the Colosseum and arrived in Piazza Santi Apostoli saw the demonstrators wearing the masks made famous by the "House of paper", a TV series that talks about the deeds of a group of robbers. A banner reads: "The paper plane. The new series by A. Altavilla. Directed by M. Draghi, production by M. Vestager, in collaboration with Mef, Mise and Mit. From October 15 on Ita".

Workers complain about the failure to pay their last wages. "The remaining part of the salaries not yet paid should be immediately paid".

To ask for it are Anpac, Anpav and Anp in a letter sent to the Commissioners of Alitalia in As regarding the decision not to proceed with the disbursement to employees of 50% of the wages due.

In a letter sent to the major press organs, the three associations of the aviation sector "took note with extreme concern of your decision not to proceed with the disbursement of 50% of the wages due to employees. We consider this decision very serious and absolutely not acceptable, held account of the period of very strong social tension, from the approaching date of the definitive termination of the Aviation activities and the delay with which INPS is providing the additions envisaged to the Cigs ".

And again "The Commissioners should have safeguarded the company and governed this delicate phase, avoiding at all costs to feed further social tensions and saving the employees from this further and unjustified heavy burden. All the more so in consideration of the fact that, since 15 next October, those Aviation activities burdened by off-market and extremely heavy charges that generated large losses to the company are expected to cease and the handling and maintenance activities remain active which should produce profits by virtue of the numerous contracts already in place and the envisaged service contracts with Ita. In this regard, we would like to remind you that for the operational maintenance areas, precisely by virtue of the activities connected to existing contracts, Cigs was never requested ",the unions conclude in the letter.

But the protest continues: for Friday the unions met in front of the labor ministry. "See you on October 1st in front of the labor ministry where we will meet the minister Orlando - announces Ivan Viglietti, secretary of Uil - Ita is beginning to call the workers and we will fight for everyone to be called back to work. It is a just battle, of civilization and indispensable ".

Tomorrow in Reggio Calabria

Concern and tensions are also expected in the Reggio Calabria sector where for tomorrow the Alitalia workers of the airport will hold a sit-in in Piazza Italia in front of the Prefecture, starting at 10 am to "focus attention on the serious employment problem that looms over ' production unit of the Calabrian capital, and at the same time on the operation and existence of the airport itself close to the strait ".

According to the unions Filt CGIL Ugl air transport UIltrasport "there is a concrete possibility that the newborn Ita will abandon the airport, also considering the reduction to only one flight per day in the summer season while the other airports increase them".

Less than twenty days after the departure of Ita, "we loudly denounce the total lack of communications regarding the future work of 40 workers on whom 40 families depend,

while according to the trade union representatives" the operation of all airports in the South was maintained if not implemented "and appeal to the local authorities and all candidates to want to confront the workers in the streets," in the common belief, if ever needed, that the survival of the airport is a vital issue for a a city that cannot afford other closures ".
