The former socialist minister Ségolène Royal, who did not obtain the nomination of the PS for the election of senators representing the French abroad on Sunday, does not rule out standing in the presidential election of 2022.

"Since the PS gives me my freedom, if I consider that in the political debate, it is necessary to represent things differently and to bring together differently, I do not exclude anything", declared on France 2 the ex-finalist of the presidential election of 2017, which had already announced on Sunday that it was going to transform its association "Désirs de France" into a political party.

Regarding the PS candidate Anne Hidalgo, Ms. Royal remarked: "the party apparatus did not do her a service because the very week when the party refused me the nomination and parachuted a candidate against me, Anne Hidalgo was collapsed in the polls to land at 4% because people don't like bigotry ".

Will she return her PS card which refused to give her the nomination for the senatorial elections?

"I do not think so, because the Socialist Party does not belong to this sect, this small milieu which can decide a few, overnight, on the sly, without even giving me a phone call", a- she replied, while speaking of "ambush" on the part of the PS towards her.

"It's true that on a political path, leading men and women take hits because they disturb and they embarrass, but it does not matter because what I wear with conviction, with determination , frankly, with honesty, these are the things that allow me this resilience, ”she concluded.
