The president of the Generalitat will avoid coinciding with the King during his visit to Barcelona next Thursday, on the occasion of the celebration of the Motor Show.
Pere Aragonès
has alleged that at that time he will be participating in the General Policy Debate of the Parliament -the regional equivalent of the Debate on the State of the Nation- and that, in his place, a representative of the Government will attend, yet to be specified.
Felipe VI
will be accompanied during his visit to the Barcelona fairgrounds by Pedro Sánchez, in what will mean the second visit of the President of the Government to the Catalan capital in less than a month, after he participated in the bilateral meeting with Aragonès that preceded the meeting of the dialogue table.
The Head of State and the President of the Government will land in Barcelona in a rarefied climate due to the recent arrest of
Carles Puigdemont
, and on the eve of the concentrations that will take place on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of 1-O.
It is taken for granted that separatism will take advantage of the presence of Felipe VI to advance the protests.
The King returns to Catalonia after visiting it threefold in June and July: at the opening dinner of the meeting of the Círculo de Economía, at the inauguration of the Mobile World Congress and at the delivery of the Fundación Princesa de Asturias.
Aragonès refused to participate in the official greeting to the King that took place during the world telephony congress, but ended up sharing a table with the Monarch minutes later.
On this occasion, Aragonès will attend the Auto Show on Monday 4, thus avoiding any snapshot with Felipe VI.
