In the film, the actual ship construction that is closest to the hole seems to have been torn up from the inside, the plate seems to have folded outwards.

- There you actually see cracks that run a bit in.

This is a case of large deformation.

You can see that there is great damage.

Surprisingly many rags in relation to what I had expected, says Anders Ulfvarson, says Anders Ulfvarson, professor emeritus in shipbuilding technology at Chalmers to the radio.

"Excluded from arising from contact with bottom"

In a documentary from Discovery plus last year, the hole in the hull was discovered.

A theory arose that it came into contact with the seabed.

But after seeing the new high-resolution film, that theory is out of the question, says Lars Ångström, who is involved in the Estonia issue and former member of parliament (MP).

- It is completely out of the question that these protruding beams, and distorted almost rolled-up plates, would have been caused by contact with the bottom.

This has been added in some other way.

Considering that it is both blackened, and that plates and beams are distorted, it is not possible to rule out detonation, says Lars Ångström to Swedish Radio.
