Delivering on promises after 13 years

Wu Shaohong is currently the head nurse of Sanyuan District Hospital of Sanming City (Community Health Service Center of Liexi Street, Sanyuan District, Sanming City).

In November 2008, she joined the Chinese Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donor Database when she donated blood, hoping that one day she could be matched successfully and help others.

On June 21 this year, she received a call from the matching success. At this time, the brain quickly pulled her back to the scene of joining the hematopoietic stem cell bank. She said: "The first feeling is that I am so lucky! Volunteer to join a Chinese hematopoietic stem cell donor. The database is now 13 years old."

Wu Shaohong set off from Sanming to Fuzhou on September 22 to make donations. Before coming, he had been coordinating work related to epidemic prevention.

The leaders of the unit are also very supportive. Before coming to Fuzhou, the hospital leaders coordinated relevant personnel to take over her work.

Wu Shaohong listened to the thank-you letter written by the patient.

Because I am a medical worker, I still know better about donating hematopoietic stem cells. My family and friends are more supportive, but at the same time I am a little worried.

After educating their relatives and friends on the process and meaning of donating hematopoietic stem cells in detail, they were relieved.

On the morning of the 27th, during the collection, Li Fangchi, a volunteer who will donate hematopoietic stem cells the next day, also came to the hospital to learn about the collection process, and at the same time cheered for the two volunteers who were donating, and read the patient's writing for Wu Shaohong. Thank you letter.

"A small move in 2008 that can be helpful to others 13 years later, I feel very lucky!" Wu Shaohong said with a smile: "Donating hematopoietic stem cells is harmless, beneficial and caring for oneself. Hope. More people join the ranks to ignite the fire of hope for more blood disease patients."

Give yourself and save lives

"Post-90s" young man Fu Ziyu is a sunny, kind, and helpful big boy who is very enthusiastic about public welfare.

When I was a junior high school student, I donated to children in mountainous areas to study; I have already registered for organ donation, and I often participate in voluntary blood donation activities.

When I was donating blood in college, I saw the publicity about hematopoietic stem cell donation, so I didn't hesitate to join the database of hematopoietic stem cell donors in China.

Xiao Fu's mother is a doctor who saves lives and heals the wounded, and his father is a soldier who protects his family and the country. Perhaps because of the influence of his parents since childhood, his philosophy is to do everything he can to help those in need.

Therefore, after receiving the matching call in April, he was very excited, and Xiaofu regarded this donation as a very meaningful volunteer activity.

As he approached the donation, he was even more excited.

During the collection, the doctor's mother read the thank-you letter written by the patient, and both mother and Xiao Fu couldn't help crying.

Xiao Fu’s mother said: “They are all mothers. I know that the child is sick and the mother’s helplessness and anxiety. When I know that Xiao Fu is going to donate hematopoietic stem cells, I have always been very supportive. Donating a little hematopoietic stem cells can save one. Family, this is a good thing."

Xiaofu said: "Thank you to the staff of the Management Center of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donor Database for their help and care for me all the way. I hope that more and more people can participate in this volunteer activity, dedicate themselves and save lives." End )
