September 27, 2021Amazon increases the entry salary of employees in the logistics network by 8%. From 1 October, thanks to the salary increase that is part of the periodic salary review carried out by Amazon, the entrance salary - a note reads - will go from 1,550 to 1,680 euros gross per month.



The new entry salary is therefore 8% higher than the standards set by the national transport and logistics contract. 



"We have always worked to be the most customer-oriented company in the world, but not only. We also want to be the best employer and the safest place to work", underlines Stefano Perego, vp Amazon Eu operations.



Since its arrival in Italy in 2010, Amazon has invested over 6 billion euros, creating more than 12,500 new permanent jobs, in over 50 sites throughout the country. 



In 2021 the distribution centers in Novara and Cividate al piano (Bergamo) have already entered into operation, to which the sorting center in Spilamberto (Modena) will soon be added. Amazon then announced the opening in 2022 of its first distribution center in Abruzzo where 1,000 new permanent jobs will be created within three years of opening. 



In recent years it has also opened various centers and warehouses throughout the peninsula.

To serve Amazon Prime Now and Fresh customers, the company has two urban distribution centers in Milan and Rome.

In addition to the investments made in the logistics network, in 2013 Amazon inaugurated the customer service in cagliari and expanded its corporate headquarters in Milan.



In 2017 it moved its new offices to the Porta Nuova area in Milan.

The company has also opened a development center in Turin for research on voice recognition and natural language understanding that will support the technology used for the Alexa voice assistant.
