A man, suspected of having threatened to attack a police station with an automatic weapon, was arrested in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), indicate the police services of the department.

On September 22, the Group of violence against people was seized, after several calls received to the police of Lyon, Strasbourg, Lille, Marseille, Bordeaux, Narbonne and or Seine-Saint-Denis: the an individual is suspected of having introduced himself on the telephone "as a former Daesh fighter", planning to attack "a police station armed with a Kalashnikov".

Investigators managed to geolocate the phone in Perpignan, then the suspect, who was arrested in the middle of the street, in the neighborhood where he lived.

Already known to the courts for acts of defense of terrorism, the man, who is under medical supervision, was placed in police custody.

He should soon undergo a psychiatric examination.
