It has, together with the radio cars, been the attraction that has been longest at Liseberg.

But it is not the original from the USA purchased in 1929, which packs, but more the idea itself: around and up and down.

For some the greatest joy and most fun experience, but for others a terrible story where the stomach is put to the test.

- I myself can not ride it anymore, then I feel bad, owns Victoria Widborn, administrative manager and acting park manager at Liseberg.

Saved after all

After a few different places in the park in different places and in slightly different variants, you can say that the current Whirlwind is "born" in 1969. Then it was bought from Germany.

In 1985 it got its current location and has remained in the same place since then.

But now it will start to be dismantled as soon as the last riders have finished riding on Sunday evening.

What will replace the Whirlwind is secret, but according to Liseberg, there will be two completely new surprises.

And Liseberg is open to saving the attraction, and maybe can be reassembled later on after all.

A conceivable year could be in two years when Liseberg turns 100 years old.
