Sudan..the army abandons the protection of the recovered dismantling committee sites

The Sudanese army withdrew all regular forces working with the “Dismantling Empowerment” committee concerned with confiscating the property of the former regime, while the head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, stressed, in a speech today, Sunday, that the Sudanese people are suffering and sacrifices must be made to improve living conditions.

The Sudan Tribune website said that the withdrawal of the army appeared to be a reaction to the speech of a member of the Sovereign Council, Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman, that “the army is not the guardian of the country.”

Sources told "Sudan Tribune" today, Sunday, that "the Commander-in-Chief, through an immediate signal, withdrew the army elements that were protecting sites recovered by the dismantling committee."

She pointed out that the police forces are still protecting the headquarters of the dismantling committee and the sites entrusted with protecting them, given that the police are a civilian body under the authority of Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok.

The dismantling committee recovered hundreds of companies, factories and farms from supporters of the former regime, but these sites have not yet been handed over to the holding company in charge of managing these assets.

For its part, the committee to dismantle the regime of the thirtieth of June launched an urgent call for the revolution's supporters to go immediately to the dismantling committee to agree on how to secure the headquarters.

"In a strange step, the joint forces guarding the recovered assets and real estate were instructed to withdraw and evacuate them immediately," she said.

The Sudanese website stated that, in a later development, the withdrawal of the bodyguard accompanying the member of the Sovereign Council, the alternate head of the dismantling committee, Muhammad Al-Faki Suleiman, was announced.

On Friday, Suleiman said that the army “is not the guardian of the country, but the guardian of it is the Sudanese people,” in response to the speech of the head of the Sovereignty Council that the army is the guardian of the country.

Al-Burhan renewed his talk about the army's guardianship of the country today, Sunday, and said, "The army is the guardian of the country, and anyone who says otherwise to come with another body that protects the country ... the army is the guardian of the country and is the guardian and trustee."

Al-Burhan indicated that our unity as forces that believe in change is the only way to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese, stressing that the armed forces are committed not to overthrow the revolution.

Al-Burhan said: The army is the most eager to move to the democratic stage, pointing out that there are some parties that do not want to hold elections in Sudan.

He added: We do not accept any questioning of our loyalty to Sudan, as the Sudanese Armed Forces are a well-established national institution that adheres to the unity of the country.

He continued, saying: We do not sit at the table with parties that have dual loyalties, as the military establishment in Sudan is not a partisan institution and is not a party with any political party.

Al-Burhan stressed the need to unite the forces of the revolution in Sudan into one entity, noting that the elections should take place on time.

Al-Burhan explained that the armed forces will withdraw from the political scene and return to their barracks after the elections in Sudan.

Al-Burhan pointed out that the army is the property of the Sudanese people and it continues in its role, stressing the army's keenness on the unity and security of the country and the preservation of the people.

Al-Burhan stressed that we are all partners in the change in Sudan, indicating that the army will work to reveal the affiliations of the perpetrators of the coup attempt and reform the Sudanese military institution.

Al-Burhan praised the role of the Sudanese forces that repelled an Ethiopian attack today, stressing that no one can intimidate the Sudanese army.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people responded to the call of the dismantling committee to protect its headquarters and dozens of companies and institutions that it recovered from the leaders of the former regime, after the regular forces were withdrawn from these sites.

The governor of Khartoum, Ayman Khaled, said that the Khartoum state police were committed to protecting all sites, the headquarters of the empowerment committees, sites and properties recovered from the former regime.

Identical sources talk about withdrawing the bodyguard of the Sovereign Council member and spokesman, Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman, who is the alternate head of the dismantling committee.

The Sudan Tribune monitored the arrival of hundreds of people to the headquarters of the dismantling committee, in response to its call for consultations on protecting its headquarters and the institutions that had recovered it.

Two police patrols were seen in the state of Khartoum returning to the protection of the headquarters of the dismantling committee, which is the building of the legislative council of the state of Khartoum, but the southern gate of the headquarters is still not protected.
