September 26, 2021 "I greet the participants in the 68th national meeting of the Bersaglieri Association, hosted by the city of Rome. Even during the most difficult moments of the pandemic, many of our fellow citizens were able to directly appreciate the prodigal work carried out by the members who generously, in full collaboration with the national structure in charge of the emergency, they wanted to make their voluntary contribution. I am sure that the meeting will represent an opportunity to renew, among the Bersaglieri in service and on leave, the memory of the past and to stimulate reflection on the future of the Association.
The Crimson Flames have always distinguished themselves, at the service of the country and the international community, in Italy and in crisis areas, receiving admiration and gratitude in particular in the most disadvantaged realities. Even today, the Bersaglieri Departments constitute one of the main components of the Italian military contingents engaged in international security and stabilization missions. "On this occasion, I address the Republic's grateful thoughts to the fallen of the specialty and to Labaro, guardian of the values and of the path traced by the founder General La Marmora. Value, self-denial and spirit of sacrifice portray the figure of the Bersagliere in the national collective imagination , an example of virtues that have written the history of Italy. With appreciation for the significant work done, may all the assembled Bersaglieri and their families wish a full success of the gathering ", concludes the Head of State.
