The thief did not hesitate to drag his octogenarian victim on the ground for several meters, to make him drop his bag.

La Dépêche du Midi

echoes a particularly violent scene which occurred on Friday morning in Lévignac, a town of 2,000 inhabitants located north-west of Toulouse.

It was 10 a.m. and an 84-year-old resident had just got out of his vehicle when a man appeared.

He grabbed the bag the octogenarian was carrying over his shoulder.

The latter grabbed hold of, but so did the thief.

The victim fell and was then pulled "for several meters" before letting go, his face swollen.

The thief fled running with the bag but the gendarmes have several witnesses to the scene to conduct their investigation.
