An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred with an intensity of 3-4 and a focal depth of 74 kilometers. The epicenter was located 23 kilometers northeast of Lock City (LOOC) in West Mindoro Province.

  When the earthquake occurred, the tremor was obvious in the Philippine capital Metro Manila.

As it was early in the morning, many residents had just taken a break. People living in Chinatown, Pasay, BGC, Makati, Quezon said on social platforms that they were awakened by the earthquake and felt strong. After that, Manila people said good night to each other and continued rest.

  The real-time update of the earthquake information chart on the Phivolcs official website shows that from 0:39 to 1:50 on the 27th, the epicenters near Lock City (LOOC) in West Mindoro Province and Calatagan (Calatagan) in Batangas Province occurred successively. There were 7 consecutive earthquakes, of which a 4.5 magnitude aftershock was recorded in Rock City at 1:40.

Phivolcs said this is a structural earthquake, and aftershocks are expected to cause some damage.
