She conceded that the decision to part ways with Richardson was a difficult one.

"Obviously, after having shared such an experience with your team, it's hard to have to say this to someone but I think that's what I need."

Raducanu, who only made her first WTA tournament in Nottingham (England) in June and only played two more tournaments before her US Open victory, said she was still waiting to decide when to was going to return to the courts.
