The town of Astaffort, in Lot-et-Garonne, is desperately looking for a general practitioner.
One of the last two doctors in the town is going to retire and has no replacement.
Francis Cabrel, singer and famous inhabitant of this small town, has agreed to lend a hand in this quest.
This is the story of one of the biggest record sellers in France who has difficulty ... finding a doctor.
In a video posted on YouTube, Francis Cabrel calls for a doctor to settle in his town of Astaffort, in Lot-et-Garonne, where he lives.
The doctor who will settle in will therefore have the honor of treating the singer if he falls ill.
"There is the ocean and the mountain at two o'clock"
This 2.5-minute clip posted on YouTube praises the peaceful life we lead in the village of Astaffort, through the testimonies of residents.
"Astaffort is a little paradise! There is the ocean and the mountains just two hours away", launches a resident in the video.
A video punctuated by a guitar tune and a voice that we recognize immediately.
Francis Cabrel played the game and agreed to appear in this little film which has only one goal: to convince a doctor to come and settle in the town of 2,000 inhabitants.
A medical desert
The problem of the medical desert concerns many regions in the countryside.
It is for this reason that the caregivers of the Astaffort Health Center have decided to launch this campaign, as explained by Sophie Mas Chevalier, who chairs the organization.
"There are only two general practitioners left, one of whom would like to assert his pension rights. It is absolutely not enough to have a doctor for our city. That's where the idea came from. Of course, we immediately thought of Francis Cabrel who very kindly agreed to help us, "she says.
This Friday, in the middle of the day, the clip had already been viewed nearly 9,000 times on YouTube.
