Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) has defended the expiry of continued wages for unvaccinated people in corona quarantine. “Vaccination protects health. And now it saves you money too. That should convince many, "said Spahn of the" Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung ". It cannot be assumed that the quarantine requirements will now be

broken many times, as warned by the SPD health politician Karl Lauterbach, among others. Spahn said: “Anyone who does not follow quarantine requirements is committing an administrative offense. And that is checked and punished with severe penalties. "

The health ministers of the federal states agreed on Wednesday that unvaccinated people in quarantine should no longer receive compensation for the loss of earnings by November 1 at the latest. There should be exceptions for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons and who have a certificate for

it. Citizens for whom no public vaccination recommendation has yet been made should continue to be paid.

Persons who suffer loss of earnings due to an officially ordered quarantine are entitled to compensation under the Infection Protection Act.

However, there is also an exception in the event that a vaccination could have prevented the quarantine.

The federal states have to pay the compensation.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, according to a survey by the Evangelical Press Service, they have paid more than 600 million euros in wages in such cases.
