The operation was planned and involved, among other things, traffic police, regional task force, area police and dog patrols.
During Thursday afternoon and evening, the police targeted young people in criminal environments in the western parts of Västerås.
- I participated in the effort and saw disturbing examples of young people in unsafe environments, says Sara Ekström, local police area manager in Västerås.
The police carried out several house searches and personal checks.
A small amount of drugs and a knife were found and seized.
The operation resulted in, among other things, four people, three younger and one under the age of 18, being suspected of having used small amounts of drugs, one person being suspected of aggravated drunk driving, one person being suspected of illegal driving and one person being suspected of using false record.
- Valuable information has been added about different people, vehicles and addresses that we can continue to work with.
The local police area will implement more similar initiatives in the future, says Sara Ekström.
