The Tokyo High Court said in a trial in which two Sri Lankan men sued the country for being deported immediately after being denied refugee application and not being given time to file a trial against the decision. In response to the point that he infringed the right to a fair trial, Minister of Justice Uekawa said, "We will respect the human rights of foreigners and work to ensure thorough operation in compliance with proper procedures."

Two Sri Lankan men sued the country for being deported immediately after being dismissed from the refugee application without being given time to file a trial dissatisfied with the decision. Pointed out that he "infringed the right to a trial guaranteed by the Constitution," and ordered a total of 600,000 yen in compensation.



Regarding this, Minister of Justice Kamikawa said at a press conference that if the refugee application is not approved, in order to secure time to file a trial, he will not be deported for two months after notifying him, and will operate in June. I explained that I am changing.
