Who were the Japanese suicide bombers?

The word "kamikaze" means "divine wind", in Japanese, and refers to the attempt to conquer Japan by the Mongol emperor Kubilai Khan in 1281. In 1944, as the Pacific War rages on, the state -Japanese major noted that only 10% of the shells launched by their fighter planes on American ships reach their target.

Thanks to the suicide bombers, these pilots willing to crash their aircraft on the enemy, we hope for 30% success.

The first mission took place in the fall and in the weeks that followed, squadrons were formed.

In Japan, there are soon more volunteers than planes.

But what were the rituals of suicide bombers?
