Ahead of yesterday's football match between Sirius and IFK Norrköping, the police had introduced a ban on banners and flags.

The ban was an attempt to prevent supporters from hiding under pieces of cloth and using pyrotechnics - for example "Bengals".

But the ban had the opposite effect.

Instead of reducing the use of pyrotechnics, it increased when supporters expressed dissatisfaction with the ban.

In connection with the fires of torches, Bengals and lightning Bengals in the stands, TV equipment was damaged, among other things.

Police: "Inventive solutions"

Police officer Magnus Almerfors was the arena commander during the match on Wednesday night.

According to him, it is not surprising that people manage to smuggle Bengals into the matches.

- They use very ingenious solutions, such as smuggling it into their underwear or throwing it at the doctor, says Magnus Almerfors who is also the operational coordinator at the police.

No one was detained during the match, but several police investigations have now started.
