Xinhua News Agency, Kathmandu, September 23 (Reporter Yi Aijun and Zhou Shengping) The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal issued a notice on the 23rd that it will resume providing visa-on-arrival services to foreign tourists who have been fully vaccinated against the new crown.

The notice stated that foreign tourists must provide a certificate of full vaccination at least 14 days before arrival in Nigeria, a certificate of negative nucleic acid test for the new coronavirus within 72 hours before boarding, and a certificate of booking a hotel in Nigeria to obtain a visa on arrival.

Foreigners with the purpose of climbing and trekking must also show a permit issued by the Nigerian side.

In addition, foreigners must undergo antigen testing after arriving in Nigeria.

In an interview with Xinhua News Agency, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, Lakshmi Kumari Basnet, said that the purpose of making the above decision is to save the tourism industry that has been hit hard by the new crown epidemic.

At present, the number of new confirmed cases of new crowns in Nepal is decreasing, and schools have begun to resume classes. There is no reason to continue to close the tourism industry.

According to the announcement, foreign tourists who have not received the new crown vaccine can apply for visas to Nepalese embassies and consulates abroad, but they must be quarantined in hotels for 10 days at their own expense after arriving in Nepal.

In March last year, a new crown epidemic broke out in Nepal, and the service of visa on arrival for foreign tourists was subsequently suspended.

Recently, Nepal has reported a significant decrease in the number of new confirmed cases and deaths of new crowns.

On September 2, the Kathmandu Valley, where the capital of Nepal is located, lifted the anti-epidemic ban.
