The adherence of Russia and Bolivia to the central role of the UN, to the principles of international law, the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs was underlined, ”the statement reads.

It is noted that "issues of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere were discussed, including the prospects for the implementation of large investment projects, the possibility of building up cultural and humanitarian exchanges."

"There was a mutual disposition to expand joint work to counter the COVID-19 pandemic," the Foreign Ministry added.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of Bolivia, Benjamin Blanco, said that Russia had offered the Bolivian authorities to produce the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in the South American republic.
