“Considerable attention was paid to strengthening coordination between Russia and Saudi Arabia on a wide range of international and regional issues, including the state of affairs in Yemen, Syria and the Persian Gulf zone,” the Russian Foreign Ministry quoted TASS as saying.

It is noted that the parties confirmed their intention to continue cooperation, which will give the interaction between Moscow and Riyadh "the character of a strategic partnership."

Earlier it became known that Lavrov and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed the development of the situation in Afghanistan, Libya and around the Iranian nuclear deal.
