Toulon's Italian third line Sergio Parisse, who is playing his last season, will be sidelined for three months with a wrist injury, the club said on Thursday.
The captain of the RCT, 38, suffers "from a fractured scaphoid and should not return to competition for 3 months," said the Var club in a statement.
The Italian international with 142 caps was injured on the third day of the Top 14 against the French Stadium at the Mayol stadium last Sunday.
The RCT won 38-5 by scoring five tries including one signed by Parisse.
The RCT must also deal with the absence of another third line, the Argentinian international Facundo Isa, also affected during this meeting.
Isa, 28, "suffers from a broken finger that will keep him away from the lawns for the next six weeks," the club said.
Currently eighth in the standings with a record of a victory for a defeat and a draw, Toulon goes to the land of the promoted Perpignan on Saturday during the 4th day of the championship.
