The woman is on probable cause suspected of a serious violation of international law and a serious war crime.

The prosecutor suspects that she has contributed to a child under the age of 15 being used as a child soldier in Syria, during the years 2013-2016, something she denies.

- She has not in any way contributed to a child under the age of 15 participating in hostilities, says the woman's defender, lawyer Mikael Westerlund.

"Has collaborated"

He believes that his client cooperated with the police during the investigation against her.

"Since she came to Sweden, she has fully cooperated with police authorities and submitted to many and long interrogations, where she clarifies what she has done in Syria and why she ended up there," he says.

Therefore, the defense believes that it is unnecessary to request that the woman be detained.

- Our view is that detention is not needed to conduct the investigation in an effective manner, says Mikael Westerlund.
