The Sudanese Professionals Association criticized what it called the partnership between the civilian and military components of the transitional government, while the Forces for Freedom and Change coalition denounced the statements of the head of the Sovereign Council and his deputy regarding accusing politicians of a struggle for power.

The assembly described this partnership as "a partnership of subservience and circumvention of the goals of the glorious December revolution," as he put it, in reference to the demonstrations that erupted in late 2019 and ended with the overthrow of Omar al-Bashir's regime.

And he called - in a statement - what he called the forces of the living revolution to be vigilant, adhere to the causes of their unity, and be ready to complete the road to rid Sudan forever of the remnants of tyrants, as he described it.

The statement added that "the revolutionaries and revolutionaries of Sudan are the protectors of the revolution and the decision-makers, and they will end the miserable partnership, and they will push the train of the December revolution back to the path of justice."

In a parallel context, the Coalition of Forces for Freedom and Change in Sudan denounced the statements of the President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), after the recent coup attempt, and considered it an attempt to create a rift between the forces of the civil revolution and the armed forces.

The coalition said - in a statement - that the speech of the head of the Sovereignty Council and his deputy about the coup attempt "is a regression from the democratic transition, and against the agenda of the revolution."

Confrontation

The statement added that the forces of freedom and change "will not allow the foundations of the transitional period to be undermined and will confront it with full force."

The statement called for accelerating the reform of the military and security services and the purification of its ranks from what it called "the remnants."

The Forces for Freedom and Change demanded that the people be informed of the results of the investigation into the coup attempt, and the participation of civil authorities in the investigation.

In statements to Al-Jazeera, Sudanese Minister of Cabinet Affairs Khaled Omar Youssef said that the speech of the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council about the army's guardianship of the country due to political divisions is a repetition of the history of previous coups in the country, and a direct threat to the transitional phase.

Youssef added in an interview with Al-Jazeera - during the "Without Borders" program - that the civilian component in the Council of Ministers will not accept this attack and will face it.

The head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, had said that it was the regular forces that aborted the coup attempt in the country, and that they were the protectors of change until the democratic transition was reached.

Al-Burhan accused the politicians of wasting the slogans of the revolution and of the struggle for power. Hemedti also said that politicians are the reason behind the recent coup attempts, because they are preoccupied with conflicts and positions and neglect the demands and needs of citizens.
