President Moon Jae-in, who finished the UN General Assembly schedule, will continue his patriotism in Hawaii today (23rd).

We will award medals to those of merit and participate in the ceremony of taking over the remains of the Korean and American soldiers who died in the Korean War.

President Moon Jae-in congratulated the descendants of the late Kim No-di and Ahn Jung-song of patriots, the Medal of the National Founding Medal.



The two governors, who were immigrants from Hawaii, were active in the independence movement in Hawaii and the Americas by raising funds and providing financial support.



The two governors were awarded the Order of Merit for Founding on March 1 of this year, and President Moon was awarded the Order of Merit during this visit to the United States.



This is the first time that a Korean president has awarded a medal to a person of merit abroad.

Persons of merit awarded by the government to independence fighters under the Moon Jae-in administration, such as 275 people on March 1 this year and 247 people on Liberation Day has surpassed 16,000.



Earlier, President Moon visited Punch Bowl National Cemetery in Hawaii to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Korean War veterans and put a wreath.



Today at 10 am Korean time, I will attend the mutual acceptance ceremony of the remains of the ROK and US soldiers who participated in the Korean War.



After the takeover ceremony, President Moon heads home after completing his five-day, three-night visit to the United States.
