"In total, almost 140 people and 35 pieces of equipment are involved in search activities, including 83 people and 20 pieces of equipment from the Russian Emergencies Ministry," Interfax quotes a message from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Prior to that, it was reported that about 70 people were involved in the operation.

Earlier, a Mi-8 helicopter EMERCOM of Russia discovered from the air an An-26 aircraft that had disappeared earlier in the Khabarovsk Territory. 

Investigators have already opened a criminal case into the loss of communication with the An-26 aircraft in the Khabarovsk Territory.
