Journalist Sosthène Kambidi was arrested in Kinshasa

on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

He was interviewed for the first time this Wednesday at the end of the day and was able to benefit from the assistance of a lawyer, Maître Kabongo.

The latter remains optimistic for the rest of the legal proceedings: “

He is being prosecuted for certain offenses, in particular criminal conspiracy, terrorism and insurrection. I saw him, I attended his hearing for more than six hours. I can say that he is fine, although the conditions of detention are not the best conditions. His morale is high, he keeps his courage and his smile. This is the first time that it has been heard, so we hope that with the evolution of the investigation, there will be elements that will allow us to say that the facts can be qualified or reclassified in another way

. "

According to our information, the prosecution seeks to know the origin of its information on the murder of two UN experts in 2017 in Kasai and to know how it came into possession of the video of their execution.
