In the middle of the morning, a heavy truck violently struck the cab of a stationary tanker truck.

The driver of the latter, who was outside the vehicle, was struck by a concrete element thrown by the truck.

He was very seriously injured in the legs.

The heavyweight swerved and mowed several elements in its path, while climbing on a median.

The driver of the tanker was delivering fuel and was operating valves at the time of the accident.

The victim was to be amputated

He was taken care of by firefighters and a team from the Smur of Bourgoin-Jallieu, before being evacuated to a hospital in Lyon.

In a state of absolute emergency, the fifty-something had to be amputated, according to our colleagues.

The driver of the truck was slightly injured.

For safety, the service area was closed and evacuated, the time to check that no fuel leak had been generated in the impact.

It will only reopen this Wednesday.

The two damaged trucks were evacuated.

An investigation by the gendarmes was opened to understand why the driver of the truck deviated from its path.
