The leak occurred on Thursday after 6 pm and lasted until Friday at lunchtime.
After an own internal investigation where samples were collected from the leaked oil, it was found that the oil is of the same type as the one used as a support fuel on the recovery boilers.
Assists with staff
Since the incident, the factory has established contact with the authorities involved and assists with its own staff in the continued remediation work and will continue to support the investigation with all necessary resources.
Out to sea
Metsä Board will continue to investigate why the oil went directly into the sea.
