According to the regional daily, Me Corentin Delobel pointed out the health problems of this former restaurateur, who had been ousted from the management of a Nice establishment belonging to the businesswoman.

The 68-year-old man has “only one lung, following cancer when he was young”, is equipped with a pacemaker and suffers, according to him, from “morbid obesity and diabetes”.

Giuseppe Serena had been in prison for five years, where he had first served preventive detention.

At the head of a commando group which had organized the kidnapping of Jacqueline Veyrac, in Nice for forty-eight hours, in October 2016, he appealed against the verdict rendered at the beginning of the year by the Assize Court of the Alpes-Maritimes .
